LAYO MATERIALS

A few useful answers.

Practical questions about selection, sample cuts, development, testing and delivery.

Who is LAYO Materials?

LAYO Materials is Jiaxing Layo Group’s materials division for stock fabric sourcing and custom fabric development. We connect material selection, sampling, testing, inspection and delivery with the group’s garment development experience.

Should I choose a library fabric or start a development brief?

Use the Material Library to choose and compare an existing base. Start a development brief for reference matching, a change in weight, handfeel or finish, or a new fabric. You can submit a brief without selecting a library item.

Does a Stock label mean the fabric is available now?

Stock fabrics are part of our supply offer, but this preview is not a live stock system. Send the Fabric ID, colour, required quantity and receiving date; we will check the available batch and quantity before confirming supply. Demo status labels do not establish availability.

Why does every material have a Fabric ID?

Use the Fabric ID when requesting samples, a quote or reports. It identifies the material even when its English or Chinese description changes. Add the colour code and batch or roll number when discussing a specific supply.

Can I request both a quality swatch and a sample cut?

Yes. Quality swatch and Sample cut can be requested together. For sample cuts, list each colour and quantity in metres (m) or yards (yd). Tell us the intended garment use; we will confirm sample availability, size, charges and shipping. Use a development brief to arrange a physical reference match.

What are the MOQ and MCQ?

Stock fabrics can be purchased in cuts of a few metres, with better unit pricing for full rolls and volume orders, including container-scale supply. For custom programmes, batch options for selected knitted qualities include tens of kilograms, 100 kg or 200 kg per colour; selected woven qualities may support 500 or 1,000 metres per colour. Send the Fabric ID, colour and quantity to confirm the applicable batch and tier price. MOQ is the order minimum; MCQ is the minimum per colour.

Can I use an existing colour or develop a custom colour?

For an existing colour, send the Fabric ID and colour code so we can check the current batch. For custom dyeing, provide a colour standard or physical reference and the quantity per colour. The colour approval route, tolerance, batch size and schedule are agreed before production. The preview’s 100/200-colour palettes are demonstrations, not stock colour cards.

How should I read composition, weight, width and tolerances?

Compare composition, fabric weight in g/m² and width in cm together. For ordering, confirm usable width, the tolerance for each measured value and the test method. Retain any alternate-width notation in the record; a displayed nominal value is not a batch test result.

Are the photographs matched to each Fabric ID?

Not yet. The three source-backed materials are marked Photo pending. Other product and scene photographs illustrate material or development directions; they do not verify a Fabric ID’s specification. Request the actual swatch, colour card and batch information before approval.

Why are fabric prices provided by enquiry?

Send the Fabric ID or reference, colour, quantity with its unit, required finish and delivery destination. We will confirm the applicable quantity tier and quote in writing, including currency, price unit, taxes, delivery terms and any sample or development charges. Fixed unit prices are not published here.

How long do sampling, development and bulk delivery take?

Give us your required sample date and bulk receiving date with the fabric and colour details. We first check stock or development feasibility, then identify sample approval, colour approval, production and dispatch milestones. Confirm the schedule in writing before committing your garment production plan.

What payment terms apply?

Request the payment schedule with your quotation. Currency, deposit, balance payment and any credit arrangement must be recorded in the order agreement. This preview does not collect payments or provide an automatic credit account.

Does LAYO have an in-house testing lab?

Yes. LAYO has an in-house material/testing lab. Tell us the fabric use, destination market and required test standard so we can agree the test items and acceptance criteria. Ask for reports applicable to the fabric and batch; lab capability does not certify the entire library.

Are stock fabrics tested and inspected?

Yes. Stock fabrics undergo testing and inspection, with relevant fabric reports handed to the garment factory. Include the receiving factory, required tests and batch or roll identification in your enquiry so the report and inspection scope can be agreed before release.

Can I request a test report or certification?

Provide the Fabric ID, intended use, destination market and the exact report or certification scheme required. We will check available evidence, validity and coverage of the material and batch. A company certificate, a product certificate and a batch test report serve different purposes.

How are order fabrics managed?

Agree specifications and acceptance criteria first, then approve the sample and colour. The order plan should identify production checks, batch testing, inspection, reports, packing and dispatch milestones. Keep the approved sample and order references available for receiving checks and later traceability.

What should I do if a delivery needs follow-up?

Contact the materials team with the Fabric ID, order reference, batch or roll number, affected quantity and clear photos. Include the relevant report and how the issue appeared in use. Keep the material and packaging identification for review against the agreed specification.

How are fabrics packed and shipped?

Provide the receiving address and the garment factory’s roll, packing, label and document requirements before dispatch. Agree the shipping route and cost in the order. Full rolls, larger-volume and container-scale supplies are available to discuss; this preview does not show live freight or tracking.

Where can LAYO source fabrics?

Our sourcing offices in Guangzhou, Keqiao and Shengze connect domestic material routes; we also work with fabric resources in Japan, South Korea, Italy and the United States. Send a reference, target specification, quantity and timing to narrow the search. Overseas resources are not LAYO-owned overseas offices.

What should I include in a development brief?

State the garment application and what you want to retain or improve. Add a reference, handfeel, composition or weight target, quantity by colour and required date where known. Mark unknown values for discussion. Use the brief for sourcing, base-fabric adaptation or new development.

Can I combine several materials in one enquiry?

Yes. Add fabrics to Selection and choose Quality swatch, Sample cut or both for each. Enter sample-cut quantities by colour in m or yd, then review one combined brief. Fabric IDs and descriptions stay with each item. Comparison accepts up to three fabrics; Selection can hold more.

How are enquiries saved, and can I upload attachments?

Sample requests and development briefs are saved only after the server confirms a reference number. Delivery notifications depend on the configured connection; no automatic email or Feishu delivery is currently enabled. Attachments are not accepted; add a reference link or discuss files with the team.

How do I discuss a garment project?

Open Visit LAYO SPORT for the separate garment business. Prepare your style reference or tech pack, fabric direction, size range, quantity and timing. The two sites do not transfer your selection or contact details automatically; export the material brief if it is relevant to your garment project.

What do the brand marks and expansion image represent?

Experience identifies the confirmed garment work with DESCENTE, FILA and Wilson. Reference marks identify material and application benchmarks, not confirmed clients. The expansion image is an AI-enhanced planning visualization based on the supplied architectural design, not a completed-site photograph.

Can I request a quality swatch and sample lengths together?

Yes. For the same Fabric ID, choose a quality swatch, sample lengths, or both. Sample lengths are selected by colour, with an explicit quantity and metre or yard unit for each colour. Availability is confirmed by the team.

Where can I open the full colour card?

Open the fabric detail page and choose View all colours. The colour count follows the published record, including 50 or 100 colours when supplied. Search colour codes, select colours and enter sample quantities; the colour-card link can be copied and shared.

How do I email the materials team?

Choose Email in the floating contact panel, then select your default mail app, Gmail or Outlook webmail, or copy [email protected] into your own mailbox.
